WACO, Texas - After a long hard-fought battle with cancer, former Baylor gridiron star Charlie Bradshaw passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Plano, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas.

Bradshaw was a tackle on some of Baylor's best football teams in the mid 1950s. He went on to the National Football League where he played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Detroit Lions. He is best remembered for being All-Pro for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the dynasty of the Steelers in the early 1960s.

Bradshaw, who practiced law in Houston and in the Dallas area, was a native of Center, Texas, where he played high school football with Del Shofner before both of them arrived at Baylor. Both would eventually be selected for membership in Baylor's Athletic Hall of Fame.
