The Honda Awards program names cross-country runner Kara Grgas-Wheeler as the top woman collegiate athlete in her sport. Grgas-Wheeler, a senior from Duluth, Minn., won the NCAA cross-country championship by seven seconds (20:30) to complete a personal undefeated season and lead the Buffaloes to their first-ever NCAA team title.

Other victories for Grgas-Wheeler include the Rocky Mountain Shootout, the NCAA Regionals and the Big 12 Conference championship, where she posted a time of 19:38. In addition, she won the pre-National Invitational by a 29-second margin. A six-time All-American, Grgas-Wheeler posted a 3.58 GPA to earn first team all-conference academic honors.
