FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Katie Borton scored a career-high 21 points and added 10 rebounds to lead No. 20 Colorado State to an 84-40 rout of Air Force on Wednesday night, the Rams' 13th straight victory over the Falcons.
Colorado State (22-5, 11-5 Mountain West) tore apart Air Force's zone defense, hitting five 3-pointers, in a 25-0 run to lead 35-8. The Falcons were scoreless for 10 minutes.
Borton was 4-for-8 on 3-pointers and scored 11 points by halftime. Ashley Augspurger scored 12 points to become the 12th player in school history to reach 1,000 points for Colorado State. Joy Jenkins added 14 for the Rams.
Latoya Howell had 11 points for the Falcons (4-22, 0-13), who hurt themselves with 25 turnovers and only 24 percent shooting.
Air Force trailed 10-8 after Howell's two free throws with 14:25 left in the first half. But the Falcons missed their next seven shots and turned the ball over nine times during the Rams' big run.
Morgan Bennett got Air Force on the scoreboard with a layup off a baseline drive. But Colorado State took a 43-12 lead into halftime as Augspurger and Campbell hit 3-pointers the last 2:47 of the half.
Air Force, 4-for-24 in the first half, heated up slightly, hitting three of its first four shots in the second half to get as close as 48-19.
