HONOLULU (AP) - Cheryl Ford had 24 points and 17 rebounds to lead No. 11 Louisiana Tech to a 67-55 victory over Hawaii in a Western Athletic Conference game on Sunday night.
Amber Obaze scored 10 of her 22 points in the second half, and Ayana Walker added 10 points for the Lady Techsters (11-3, 6-0 WAC).
Natasja Allen led Hawaii (10-3, 3-1) with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Louisiana Tech took control inside after Hawaii center Christen Roper picked up two fouls in the first 4 minutes.
Ford scored 17 first-half points and the Lady Techsters built a 40-24 lead by the break. Hawaii shot 35 percent from the field in the half.
The Wahine opened the second half with a 7-2 run and closed within 42-33. A short jumper by Ayana Walker pushed Louisiana Tech's lead back to double figures, and Hawaii never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
