First Two Home Football Games To Kick Off At 1 p.m. EST

Boilermakers host Illinois State on Aug. 31, Western Michigan on Sept. 14

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference has informed Purdue athletics department officials that there are no plans to televise either of the football team's first two home games of the 2002 season.

As a result, the Boilermakers will kick off at 1 p.m. EST against both Illinois State on Aug. 31 and Western Michigan on Sept. 14.

Six game times now are known for the upcoming campaign:

Aug. 31 - Illinois State, 1 p.m. EST
Sept. 7 - at Notre Dame, Noon EST (NBC)
Sept. 14 - Western Michigan, 1 p.m. EST
Sept. 28 - Minnesota, 5 p.m. EST (ESPN2)
Oct. 5 - at Iowa, 11:10 a.m. CDT/EST (ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Plus)
Oct. 26 - at Northwestern, 11:10 a.m. CDT/EST (ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Plus)
