FRESNO, Calif. - With capacity crowds in 10 of the last 11 home football games, its no surprise that Fresno State's football season ticket sales are once again on a record pace. The Bulldogs are coming off an 11-3 record and No. 23 regular season national ranking.

With just 57 days before the Aug. 29 home opener vs. San Diego State, Fresno State has already sold 27,520 season tickets. Fresno State did not reach that total until July 18 of last year. This marks the third consecutive year that Fresno State will likely break its season ticket sales record. The Bulldogs sold 30,125 in 2000 and 31,890 last season.

Fresno State has enjoyed sellout crowds for 10 of its last 11 games, including five in a row. The athletic department added temporary seating last season, which is once again available in 2002, to bring Bulldog Stadium's capacity to 42,881.

"There is a lot of excitement for the 2002 season," said athletics director Scott Johnson. "Bulldog Stadium has been rocking the last three seasons and I expect that atmosphere will continue. We are very excited about the season tickets sales pace. The fact that so many people are renewing, shows they are happy with our program."

Season tickets remain available through the Fresno State ticket office by calling (559) 278-DOGS or online at www.gobulldog.com.
