RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Mike Skrocki scored a career-high 21 points to help Richmond defeat Cornell 52-41 Saturday in the consolation game of the Spider Invitational.

The Spiders (6-6) held Cornell scoreless over the final 8:31 of the first half en route to a 17-12 halftime lead. Richmond led by as many as 12 in the second half.

Cornell (2-9) was held to 26.4 percent from the floor and had 16 turnovers. The Spiders were barely better, hitting 28.3 percent of their field goal attempts.

Wallace Prather was the only Cornell player in double figures with 16 points.

Tony Dobbins added 12 points for Richmond, and Scott Ungerer had a career-high 13 rebounds.
