WASHINGTON (AP) - Wesley Wilson set career highs with 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 16 Georgetown to a 103-69 victory over Grambling State on Monday night.

The Hoyas (4-1) won despite playing without their leading scorer and rebounder Michael Sweetney, reserve guard Tony Bethel and they temporarily lost reserve forward Harvey Thomas.

Paul Haynes scored 19 points to lead Grambling State (1-3).

Sweetney, who averages 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, strained his left Achilles' tendon against Towson on Saturday. He intended to play against the Tigers, but elected not to after pregame warmups.

Without Sweetney in the lineup, Wilson was given more of a chance to contribute. Wilson, who came in averaging 13.5 points and 7.8 rebounds, finished with career highs in points and rebounds.

Bethel, who averaged 25 minutes in the first two games, has missed three games with mononucleosis. Thomas, cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse on Wednesday, injured his left ankle going for the ball with 7:25 remaining in the first half. He sat out the remainder of the half and did not return until 2:26 into the second half. He played less than one minute before going back to the bench.

The Hoyas, who opened the second half with a 20-5 run to put the game out of reach, finished with only eight players available.
