The Stoops Scoop
Oct. 27, 1999 "We're going into Colorado this week. They have an excellent team, very talented. Going to their place, we've really got to be ready to meet the challenge. It's good to see our players improving as the year has gone on. What's going to be important now is that we're able to establish some consistency and we're able to repeat past performances. I think that's the mark of great teams - their ability to play consistent and up to their potential each and every week. Now that's our challenge. The key to doing that is focusing on one game at a time and being as prepared as we can be. Two months ago and all the way through, our players have been fairly confident, otherwise we wouldn't have played the way we have, if we didn't think we were capable. We have executed and played fairly well. Our confidence level has been good and last week's performance doesn't hurt, but I never saw it as we were struggling. Last week against Texas A&M was a great win. It was a great Homecoming crowd. We're really proud of our players. We've noticed their work ethic in the last couple weeks - really pushing and trying to improve. Their attitudes just continue to get better in everything we're trying to do. It's fun to coach them. It's exciting to beat a quality team. We've got great respect for Texas A&M and Coach Slocum. It was fortunate for us to go out and execute to our potential. That's what we're pushing for and we did that last Saturday."
