Miami's junior wide receiver Andre King is fired up over the 'Canes dominating win over Temple and their bid to play in the Gator Bowl against Georgia.

The 'Canes are Bowl Bound!

Following our convincing win against Temple, we got an invitation that made everyone ecstatic -- a spot to play versus Georgia Tech in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. We entered the Temple game with great determination because of the bowl implications that it had. We sure didn't want to go out and stub our toe and end the season on a sad note, so knowing how important the game was we went out and took care of business.

The Gator Bowl representatives were watching, so we wanted to put on a good show for them. We knew if we played well for 60 minutes and showed them what Miami Hurricane football was all about, we would be that second team selected to play on New Year's Day.

In the locker room following the game, two representatives from the Gator Bowl came in and addressed the team. It became official when they welcomed our team to play in the Gator Bowl, with a resounding shout from the team. Coach Davis said "as you can tell by the reception of the team we gladly accept your invitation."

Now it's on to another challenge, the Yellowjackets. Since we have this week off to prepare for finals, in between studying guys are taking some time to come in and watch film on Tech. It's good to get a head start on such an explosive team, so you know what they like to do best and what makes them win. For example, great players such as Joe Hamilton, has big-play capabilities so it's good to know what it is he looks for when he attacks a defense.

This game should be a good one, with good speed and a hard hitting mentallity. We hope to see all you 'Canes in Jacksonville celebrating the New Year's with the 'Canes. Until next time.....
