Jarnagin's Journal
MLB Jared Jarnagin, one of the Cowboys' top defenders and team leaders, will submit his diary once a week to FANSonly. Jarnagin reflects "one of the most disappointing games" he has ever played in, and the importance of bouncing back.
Oct. 13, 1999
"Things didn't go as planned this past weekend. We lost
to UNLV 35-32. This was one of the most disappointing games I have ever
played in. First of all it was a conference game, and second, it was a
game we needed to win. It also was homecoming. You are not supposed to
lose your homecoming. Not to take anything away from UNLV, but we beat
ourselves this game.
That game is over now and we have to move on. It is time to see
what our team is made of. We need to bounce back and play a good game
against Louisiana-Monroe. It will be important for us to get a win
heading into the tough backstretch of our schedule. This is our last
non-conference game and we need to iron out all our mistakes and
problems this week. As we showed this weekend, you can't win games when
you make as many mistakes as we did. We now need to win the rest of our
games if we want to meet our goal of winning the conference."
