NW Missouri St Takes Div. II Title After 4 OTs
And you thought the only good football left to play was during bowl season?
NW Missouri State and Carson-Newman met in the Division II title game Saturday and played through four ovetimes and more than four hours to determine a champion.
When the marathon was over, NW Missouri State came away with the win, 58-52.
In other action, Southern downed Jackson State, 31-30, to win the SWAC. Rowan advances to the finals in the Div. III playoff with its 24-17 OT win over Mount Union.
And Georgia Southern, which beat Illinois St. Saturday, will play Youngstown State for the Div. I-AA national championship Dec. 18.
